School will be open tomorrow 26/11/2014

Please note that the school will be open tomorrow for all students and staff. We understand that the road situation has many parents and drivers concerned and if individual parents decide to not bring their children for safety reasons, we fully understand this. We will not be closing the school due to the roads, but will keep you updated with any further developments arising from the on-going construction work on the Mosul Road.

Dear Students and Parents/Carers,

Thank you for taking the time to browse our website. I hope you find it informative and that it answers any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact us at school for any further information or to arrange a visit so that you can observe our school in ‘real life’.

I hope this brief glimpse of our school via our website gives you an insight into the life of The British International Schools in Kurdistan - Hawler, our ethos and vision for all our students. I know that we have so much to be proud of: a consistent record of achievement over a number of years; a varied programme of enrichment and enhancement opportunities for students; excellent links with our community, and a dedicated and talented team of staff who work diligently for the benefit of every student.

As a Cambridge approved International School, we are authorised to teach the University of Cambridge International syllabus and to conduct their examinations, allowing your child to gain internationally accredited and recognised qualifications.

Here at BISK we have 3 very simple Core Aims:

  • We will help each of our students achieve the highest and most relevant set of qualifications possible.
  • We will help our students become ‘well-rounded’ and caring individuals ready for their adult life.
  • We will achieve these in a collaboration of listening to and working for each other.

How do we work to achieve these? By creating positive working relationships with and between all.

Our commitment to high quality teaching and learning experiences provides the foundation for school and individual success. We recognise the potential of all our students and provide opportunities that challenge their abilities. We also have a large team of support staff who work selflessly to support some of our students who may find some of the demands of academic settings more of a challenge. We offer a full 360 degree level of education, care and support for all our young people. We endeavour to provide a high level of support, guidance and care to enable your child to achieve their potential. We truly are a school where Every Child Matters.

We are very proud of our school and will strive daily to give our children the best possible chances of succeeding academically.

Should you have any unanswered questions about our school please do not hesitate to contact us. I hope you decide that The British International Schools of Kurdistan - Hawler is the right school for your son/daughter to fulfil their ambitions and aspirations, and I look forward to working with you over the coming years, in partnership.

Mrs Claire Bell

Executive Principal
